A Family-Friendly Event in Downtown Monticello

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., downtown transforms into a walkable history experience where visitors can explore ten themed stops featuring historical storyboards, demonstrations, and costumed interpreters. Whether you're a lifelong history enthusiast or simply looking for something fun to do with the family, there's something to discover around every corner.


One of the day's highlights is the opportunity to meet Raccoon John Smith at the historic cabin and hear from one of Kentucky's earliest pioneers. Visitors can also enjoy a special performance by Daniel Boone at the Wayne Theatre from 11:30 a.m. to noon, offering an entertaining look at life on Kentucky's frontier.


Explore, Learn, and Earn a Commemorative T-Shirt

The adventure continues with a self-guided journey through all ten historical stops. The first 250 visitors who complete the experience and share their adventure on social media will receive an exclusive 1776 Day commemorative T-shirt, available only during the event.
