Our one and only local steakhouse, but it is excellent.  The menu is large, and includes a variety of steaks, chicken, seafood, a salad bar, and a kid's menu. Local favorite.

Local favorite and a must visit while in Monticello. Decades of cheeseburger excellence. The menu is simple, the food is divine. Located beside the doughboy statue in downtown Monticello, you must stop and get several. Eat at the bar or take it to go, but you have to get you one to get the full experience and a "cheeseburger in paradise".

What goes better with adventure and the lake than ice cream? Dairy Queen has you covered. They also provide an amazing breakfast on the daily.

Located in the old Dunagan's General Store beside Mill Springs Mill, you can sit at the vintage counter and order an amazing brisket sandwich (among other bbq items and hamburgers) and eat there or take it across the road to the park and enjoy an amazing view.  Local favorite.

Veteran Mexican restaurant has over 20 years experience in feeding the locals.  If fine Mexican dining in an authentic atmosphere is what you crave, then this is a must visit locale.  Local favorite.  Located in the Wal-Mart shopping center.

Local coffee shop, serving Baxter's coffee, specialty breakfast items and baked goods, as well as fresh soups, sandwiches, and salads.

All the greatness of a Huddle House, and they have Free Waffle Wednesday, just saying.

Healthy shakes and really delicious ones too. Located in the Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center. Unique experience and local favorite.

An underrated gem. Yes, it's LJS, but have you tried their salmon meals? You won't regret it.

It's McDonald's. Sometimes the ice cream machine will be broken. Reliable and fresh.

All the Pizza Hut regular goodness, salad bar, and small arcade. Located beside Wendy's and Taco Bell if you have a large group that can't decide on one place, then this is the spot. Delivery available. Online ordering available.

Classic Sonic menu. Don't forget that you can get Happy Hour drink prices all day long by using their app. Frequent Thursday night classic car gatherings.

One of the freshest subways you will visit. Staff is well trained and friendly and the bread is extra amazing at this location. Online ordering is extremely efficient at this location.

Who doesn't love Taco Bell. Open late. Happy hour for drinks. Yum.

Located on the water at Conley Bottom Resort, The BoatHouse is a "can't miss" while visiting Monticello/Wayne County. Managed by restaurateur Jesus Alvarez (who also owns and operates the Black Stallion), The Boathouse has an excellent menu and is well-managed.  Open during lake season, and my be busier during peak lake times.  Local Favorite.

We are probably going to go a little overboard on this one...you HAVE to eat Frank's donuts at the Donut Palace (behind Dairy Queen) while visiting Monticello. The donuts are amazing, Frank is the best, and seriously, the donuts are amazing.

Located on W Hwy 90 between Monticello and Albany, The Grub Hub has a variety of fresh baked breads, meats, and cheeses.  They also have daily hot lunch specials such as pinto beans & cornbread and fresh hamburgers. Enjoy your lunch or freshly made sandwich on the picnic tables out front. Closed on Mondays.  Open until 5pm.  Local favorite.   

Yes, it's Wal-Mart but their "meat and two" is actually really good.

Fantastic fast food. A busy restaurant = reliably fresh food.
